Lysa and I took the kids to Brainerd one day. In addition to being referenced in the movie "Fargo" I think it's biggest claim to fame is the numerous Paul Bunyan statues around town. This statue was inside "Paul Bunyan Adventure Land", a pathetic looking 60's era amusement park. (For those of you familiar with Austin, think of Kiddie Acres with even more rust and squeaks). Rather than risk our lives on the rides we convinced the attendant to let us in just to take a picture of Paul Bunyan. The kids were pretty amazed that Paul could actually blink his eyes, open his mouth and talk. Notice the phone and table on the right side of the picture. There was a man inside and his voice projected through a speaker in the phone. We learned that Paul wasn't an environmentalist as he's credited with clearing a lot of the woods in Minnesota and Wisconsin. And his ox Babe made the 10,000 lakes with his footprints.
