Miles celebrated his birthday with a cooking party. The kids made pizzas. Well, really they rolled out refrigerated pizza dough and slathered it w/ sauce and cheese. At least I think they felt like they were cooking. They also made their own fruit kabobs and decorated cupcakes. The highlight of the party was throwing pies at Liem. See the post below for details.
Growing up, my mom always made and decorated birthday cakes for me. My favorite was the barbie doll sticking out of a layered cake that looked like her dress. Since I enjoyed it so much I try to make a special cake for my kids every year. Miles is really into crocheting and knitting right now so I tried to incorporate that into the cake. In case you can't tell, the two round things on the cake are supossed to be balls of yarn. This picture was taken at a small party with some friends the night of both Miles' and Liem's birthdays.
