The Great Outdoors

We went camping over Memorial Day weekend at a nearby state park on the St. Croix river near the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. Our friends who have a son in Owen's class joined us. We did all the usual camping things: campfire, smores, star-gazing, watching the kids run around and get dirty, hiking and even a canoe trip. Here are some of the highlights.

Owen won a tent in a drawing at a cub scout meeting. He was very excited to take it on the trip. During our stay it was used as the "secret hideout". The kids wrestled around in it so much that it tipped over a few times.

Getting ready to canoe. Miles said his favorite part of the trip was throwing rocks into the river.

Liem, Owen and Miles canoed on the St. Croix river. Eli and I stayed back to watch.

Smores!

Another cute Eli moment.....

I need to just call but these photos are so cute I needed to leave a comment. We miss you! I really like the subraru in the background; it is almost like an ad. Does this fun trip and the canoe mean that you are adjusted to life in MN and you aren't coming back?
