Art Shanties

Saturday the temperatures climbed above freezing so we took opportunity to spend some time outdoors. Our destination for the afternoon was the Art Shanty Project on Medicine Lake. The following description is taken directly from the project website:

A six-week exhibition of performance, architecture, science, art, video, literature, survivalism and karaoke, ASP is part sculpture park, part artist residency and part social experiment, inspired by traditional ice fishing houses that dot the state’s lakes in winter.

Eli rode in the winter stroller: aka a sled.

Owen taking a break outside the knitting shanty. Miles and I were inside having a lesson.

Outside the word shanty trying our hand at performance art. We're spelling out the words "Swarthy Don". Who knows why we're spelling that, or really what it means. Owen is on the far left, the "S". I'm the 3rd from the left, the "A". Miles is part of the "D", in the red coat third from the right. Eli is sounding out the words.

This is a view of the shanties.
